The building that was the center of the African American community is the African American History Museum. The building, built in 1806, has become the oldest African-American church, school, and meeting place in the United States. At present, it is open to the public as a museum where photographs of the time are exhibited. Don't miss the Beacon Hill area, which is home to many similar brick buildings. |
