The new facility on the other side of the National Assembly building is The Arts House.
The Arts House was originally used as a private mansion of Scottish merchant John Maxwell, but then became a courthouse and then a parliament building and became the current arts house in 2003.
The Arts House is an art museum exhibited mainly by Singaporean writers and works, and mini theaters and concerts are held in addition to museums.
