Wat Arun is known to Japanese people as the stage of Yukio Mishima's novel “Akatsuki-no-tera”. The construction of Wat Arun is said to have been built during the Ayutthaya dynasty, but it was restored after the death of the Ayutthaya dynasty and became a royal palace temple during the Thonburi dynasty. The 70-meter-high tower, which can be seen from the Chao Phraya River, is one of the popular tourist spots in Bangkok because of the beautiful appearance of broken pieces of pottery. Wat Arun can climb up to the observatory using stairs, but be careful not to step on it because it is a steep stairs. |
