| The palace next to Hawaii State Capitol is Iolani Palace. Iolani Palace was built in 1882 by King Kalakaua of Hawaii and is also known as the only palace in the United States. You can also tour the inside of the palace, where furniture and ornaments used by the royal family are on display.  |
