Thimphu's climate has four distinct seasons, but the altitude is 2320m and the overall temperature is lower. Due to the overlap between summer and rainy season, the best season is March to May in spring and October to November in autumn. In winter, it is not unusual for the day when the cold becomes severe and below zero.
