Beyazit Mosque, just off the Grand Bazaar. Beyazit Mosque was the oldest mosque in Istanbul and was built during the Ottoman Empire. It was destroyed by the earthquake of 1766, but it was rebuilt in 1771 and it has reached the present. Although the picture is under construction you can not see the entire exterior, but you can check the dome-shaped roof peculiar to the mosque. |
