The big square in the center of London is Trafalgar Square. Trafalgar Square was formerly nicknamed "William IV Plaza" but later it was renamed Trafalgar Square to mark the victory of the Trafalgar Naval Battle. For that reason the hero of the Trafalgar Navy Battle, the Admiral Nelson monument, is built as a symbolic entity. In Trafalgar Square, events are often held such as weekend using large plazas. There are National Gallery and St. Martin's Church in the vicinity, and it is always overflowing with many people. |
