Nostalgic spot guide
Christ Church Cathedral was a symbol of Christchurch.
The large earthquake in 2011 destroyed about 75% of all parts such as spires and stained glass. In fact, Christchurch Cathedral has been rebuilt each time since it began construction in 1864 and has been hit by three major earthquakes in the past. The square in front of the cathedral was a place for local citizens to relax.(Photo: taken in January 2009)
