| The Champs-Élysées is the main street that cuts a straight line through the heart of Paris. Stretching approximately three kilometers from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde, it is renowned as "the most beautiful avenue in the world." The view is particularly spectacular when looking from the Place de la Concorde end; the sight of the Arc de Triomphe standing atop the hill in the distance, framed by the tree-lined avenue, is truly magnificent. While this view can be enjoyed from the Place de la Concorde itself, the scene is often cluttered with traffic lights and other obstructions; a better vantage point is the crosswalk near the exit of the Franklin D. Roosevelt metro station. Situated at the start of a gentle incline, this spot offers a dynamic view where the Arc de Triomphe appears impressively large. The avenue also features wide sidewalks that are constantly bustling with tourists from around the globe. I highly recommend visiting the sidewalk cafés, where you can fully immerse yourself in the Parisian atmosphere. There is something truly luxurious about enjoying a coffee while gazing at the Arc de Triomphe. Another defining feature of the avenue is the array of high-end brand boutiques. With establishments like the flagship Louis Vuitton store, it is a paradise for shopping enthusiasts. For a view of the entire avenue, head to the observation deck at the Arc de Triomphe. From there, you can admire the beautiful cityscape: the tree-lined street stretching to the Place de la Concorde, continuing past the Tuileries Garden, and extending all the way to the Louvre Museum. |
