Sightseeing Guide
The Palais de Chaillot boasts a prime location for a direct view of the Eiffel Tower.
The Palais de Chaillot is a relatively new palace built on the site of the Trocadéro Palace, which was demolished for the 1937 Paris World's Fair. Its distinctive bay-shaped wings house the National Maritime Museum and the Museum of Mankind in the south wing, and the National Museum of French Cultural Heritage and the Chaillot National Theatre in the east wing.
The main attraction of the Palais de Chaillot is the view of the Eiffel Tower from here. Located on a slight hill, the Palais de Chaillot offers one of Paris's most spectacular viewpoints, seemingly overlooking the Eiffel Tower. While the view from the square in front of the palace is also good, the recommended view includes the park below with its numerous fountains. The view of the Eiffel Tower and the rising fountains is a highly popular spot for photography.
