The Yamagata Prefectural Museum has an impressive dinosaur-like object at the entrance. The Yamagata Prefectural Museum was built in 1971 as part of the Meiji 100th Anniversary Project, and was built in Kajo Park, the site of Yamagata Castle, where many facilities such as the Yamagata City Folk Museum and the Yamagata Prefectural Gymnasium are located. The museum exhibits the nature and culture of Yamagata Prefecture in the fields of earth science, plants, animals, archeology, history, customs, and education, and is a facility that introduces Yamagata Prefecture both inside and outside the prefecture. |
