The silk center built for the purpose of promotion of the industry of raw
silk or silk, and promotion of an international tourism enterprise. The silk center commemorated and opened the Yokohama opening-of-a-port centennial in 1959 (Showa 34). A silk center is roughly divided, and has become a building of two layers, and there are low floor of the usual building and an upper-layers story of a portion which was projected to the tower configuration. The upper-layers story serves as a silk hotel, and can be stayed. Low floor is Silk Museum and various exhibitions about silk are carried out. Nihonodori Station http://www.silkcenter-kbkk.jp/ |
