 Bastille open space is France's most important square in history. Place de la Bastille originally was the place where Bastille prison was located, on July 14, 1789 the case of the Bastille prison attacks occurred, the French Revolution began. Currently the prisons are removed and maintained as plazas, but the July Revolutionary memorial pillar stands in the center of the square and is a symbolic presence. In the vicinity of Place de la Bastille there is a cafe and a downtown area in addition to the theater opera ยท bastille, and it is full of many people even at night. There is also a square in the shade of trees, and many people take rest. It is a place that is easy to go because it is directly connected to the subway station, but it is a bit far from the center so you can not see the tourists too much.
