The church on the way to Topkapi Palace is Aya İrini. The history of Aya İrini is old, it is a church built in 330 years around the 4th century. During the Ottoman Empire many churches have been rebuilt into Muslim mosques, but miraculously remained churches. The reason is its appearance, and the appearance of brick is said to have remained, as it was used as a warehouse at that time. It is sparse that tourists visit because it is slightly off the main street to Topkapi Palace, but historic buildings are worth seeing. |
