Nostalgic spot guide
Misono-za in the Fushimi district in the center of Nagoya.
The opening of Misono-za, where musicals and plays centered on Kabuki, was surprisingly old, and was opened in 1896 (Meiji 26), modeled after the Meiji-za in Tokyo. However, it was once destroyed by the air raid of the Pacific War. It was then rebuilt in 1947, but this time it was destroyed by fire again in 1961. After the reconstruction, a bowling alley and a billiard hall were also added as the Misonoza Kaikan. However, in the 2000s, when the deficit continued due to the recession, management became difficult and the museum closed in March 2015.
Currently, it has been rebuilt as a complex building under the name of Grand Maison Misonoza Tower, and the lower part of the building has Misonoza and the middle and upper part of the building has a condominium that can accommodate 304 households, and it reopened on April 1, 2018.
