Alexandre III bridge

The Pont Alexandre III is the most magnificent bridge spanning the Seine.
It was a gift from Russia, presented to mark the 1900 Paris Exposition as a symbol of the friendship between French President Sadi Carnot and Russian Tsar Alexander III. With a width of 40 meters, it serves as a major thoroughfare to this day, yet its wide sidewalks also make it pedestrian-friendly for tourists. The view from the bridge is quintessentially Parisian, offering a beautiful vista that includes both the Seine and the Eiffel Tower—a major part of its appeal.
Another distinctive feature of the Pont Alexandre III is its four magnificent pillars. Each gleaming golden pillar is topped by a statue of a goddess, making them a highlight in their own right. However, the absolute best view is found when looking from the road situated between the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais. It is a spectacular sight—one that makes it easy to agree with the claim that this is the most beautiful bridge in the world. Beyond the slightly arched bridge, one can see Les Invalides, the final resting place of Napoleon; the harmony of these elements is simply magnificent. The view is most stunning from near the center of the crossing, so this spot is highly recommended; however, as the road carries heavy traffic, please be sure to check the traffic signals and prioritize safety while taking photos.
