Kaiyukan is one of Japan's leading aquariums. Kaiyukan is a facility located in Tempozan Harbor Village and opened in July 1990. Inside Kaiyukan, the seas around Japan, the Pacific Ocean, Antarctica, and other seas around the world are reproduced on each floor, and about 620 species and about 30,000 creatures are on display. One of the highlights is the Antarctica penguins, which are popular because they have a gap between their cute standing on the ice and their speedy swimming in the water. Furthermore, the Pacific whale shark, which is a symbol of Kaiyukan, swims slowly in a huge aquarium, and its magnificent appearance can be said to be the dignity of the king. There are also plenty of souvenir shops selling popular whale shark goods. The building is lit up at night, so don't miss it. |
